Because the Gospel is far more challenging than most of us are willing to admit, it was quickly watered down to “confess these beliefs to join our Eternal Country Club”.

It’s a lot easier to confess a statement of beliefs than it is to love your enemies.

It’s a lot easier to walk around the mall handing out tracts than it is to take in the widow and the orphan.

It’s a lot easier to show up to Church every Sunday than it is to visit prisoners.

But it isn’t the Gospel of Jesus.

The Gospel calls us way out of our comfort zone and challenges us to put our money where our Theological mouth is.
